Steve Eun Ki Kim, age 68, passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving family on May 24,2020 at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
Steve was born in Yeonju, Korea on August 15, 1951 to Sa Seon Kim and Chun Ja Lee. Steve graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Hanyang University. Steve spent the early part of his career as a Civil Engineer working abroad in Saudi Arabia and adventurously traveling the world. After immigrating to Boston, he became the owner of Brother’s Deli, a restaurant filled with regulars who became lifelong friends. Upon moving to California, Steve had various jobs, mostly recently as a property manager, where Steve fostered caring relationships with many of his tenants.
Steve is survived by his loving wife, Kum San Kim, daughters, Hae Jin Kim and Suzanne Kim, and son, Daniel Kim.
Always bright and happy, Steve lit up rooms with his innate joy, conversation, and openness to people. Steve was revered by his friends and family for his genuine kindness, boundless generosity, and unwavering love for everyone in his life.
Steve could be found playing tennis at Queen Anne’s Park with his family and friends, fishing the waters of the Pacific, perfecting his art of Korean and Chinese calligraphy, and preserving his happiest moments through his love of photography. Steve was also a diligent follower of Christ and dedicated student of the bible.
